 Welcome to Clontarf GAA Minimize

Clontarf GAA Club was founded in 1961 and from humble beginnings has grown significantly in recent years to a point where we move into 2007 with in excess of 1200 members .We field 35 teams catering for Boys, Girls, Ladies and Mens Football, Boys and Mens Hurling and Camogie for girls. Our NURSERY on a Saturday morning caters for over 280 boys and girls ranging in age from 4 to 8 whilst our 3 summer camps catered for 500 young boys and girls in August and 300 children attended our most recent Easter Camp. Our ethos is of participation, skill development and fun for all young people who join our club.

The dramatic growth in membership over the past 5 years has necessitated the development of training, playing and meeting room facilities in line with the membership expansion. In 2002 we undertook the development of all weather synthetic training pitches at the rear of our clubhouse on Seafield Road. This facility equipped with floodlights and costing 400,000 euro was funded out of club resources and has proven to be of enormous benefit in developing the skills of our players and enhancing the reputation of the club within the Clontarf area.

Looking to the future and the growing needs of the club it became apparent that the development of our playing pitches and changing facilities at St Anne's Park was a major priority. In August 2006 work began on developing 2 full sized all weather natural Gaelic pitches at St Anne's equipped with match standard floodlights and updating the changing facilities to meet the needs of not just the growing membership but the dynamically growing ladies and girls section which now accounts for 400 of our 1200 members .It is expected to take 18 months to complete the project at a budgeted cost of 1,450,000 euro. To date lottery funding has contributed 250,000euro with the membership donating 500,000 euro via a covenant scheme.

New members are welcome at all times, be it playing, coaching or social. Just send us an e-mail , contact a member of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE or just drop in to the Clubhouse on Seafield Road. We hope that the Website will provide a platform for greater communication within the Club itself and further afield in the sharing of information on Gaelic games in Clontarf.
