Extended ClubNotes Mar 29th

ADULT GAMES:
Lads, you’re making life tough here for the clubnotes, with three super wins over the weekend, for the Seniors, Minor hurlers and

Junior Bs. Well done to all involved. Pix are wining their way to the website, so log on this week to see the lads in action.

SENIORS: The senior footballers had a convincing win over neighbouring St. Vincent's, turning in a solid team performance. Welcome back to Kevin Devine from his travels and bon voyage to Shane McIntyre as he sets off on his. The team are now gearing up for their championship match against Lucan Sarsfields on April 16.

SENIOR LADIES: Ladies Division 1 V Na Fianna Pitch 34 at 7.30 on Wednesday night. Please give your support as it is our first match in Division 1 at this level.
Also on Pitch 35 is our second ladies team V Kilmacud Crokes. For future fixtures see www.dublinladiesgaelic.ie

JUNIOR B: A great win over Peregrines on Pitch 34 on Sunday morning.

*** TEAM OF THE WEEK *** - MINOR HURLERS: It’s three-in-a-row wins-wise as the lads recorded their third league success of the season in a highly entertaining (4-14 to 3-8) game against Parnells at Chanel College. Clontarf had the better of the exchanges while playing with the breeze in the first half but only led by 4 points (1-10, 2-3) at the break as Parnells finished the half with a goal from a 21 yard free.
Parnells started the second half with a quick point but Clontarf responded brilliantly and gave a great exhibition of team play with all 17 players involved in the game battling to the finish and contributing to a great victory.

Gaelic 4 Mothers presentations took place in Culdoras last night, with 35 mothers receiving their certificate of Competition. A big thanks to Sue Lillis and Anne O’Mahony for helping in presenting the six-week programme.

JUVENILE GAMES:

U16: The under 16 Championship game was postponed until tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 7.30 on Pitch 35. All support would be warmly received.

U14: Football Division 1 – Clontarf A : 0-8 to Kilmacud Crokes A : 2-13. Clontarf played very well and battled until the end. There was only one point between the teams at half time but Kilmacud’s error-free team play and movement in the second half eventually won the match. The difference between the teams was a lot less than the scoreline suggests.
Division 7 – Na Fianna C : 2-8 to Clontarf B: 3-9. Another great win for the B team  ("La Famille" team as they prefer  to be called). This win keeps them on top of the table. Best for Clontarf were Rory O’Connell, Adam Keogh and man of the match Des Whelan

U14 Girls: On great form with a big win over arch rivals Scoil yesterday, scoring 6-12 to 1-3. The team play was fantastic, so well done to everyone. Too many performances to single out any individual. Special thanks to Neil O’Driscoll for his help over the past few weeks.

U13: The footballers had a big win over a weakened Lucan Sarsfields side while the B team battled well but were defeated by Ballyboughal.

U12: Well done to the A team who overcame an eight-point defecit to record a fine seven-point win over Kilmacud Crokes. Kevin Lillis, Patrick Smyth, Jack Higgins and Grellan Murray were superb.
An understrenth B team suffered a heavy defeat to Finians. Jack Pollon and Nathan Doran gave all for the cause.

U11 Girls: Great fun at a competitive backs v forwards game between the two squads during the break from Easter competition. Next match up is a friendly away to Naas on April 10.

U10: A Puma hurling team missing two backs and a top midfielder were beaten away to Naomh Barrog on Saturday. Best for the team was the ever dependable Luke Marren.
The Bears’ hurlers, showing all their skills, enjoyed a comfortable win over Barrog, with scores from an ill Stephen Evans (1-1) and goals from Luke O’Malley, Conor Ryan, Stephen Doran and Caileann Mulvaney, with the last two players outstanding in midfield and defence respectively.
The Cheetahs suffered a narrow defeat to Barrog, with Andrew Synott brilliant in defence and trying air hurling all the time. Matthew Campbell battle throughout with one great blockdown using his hurl and his head. Jordan Broy and Ben Murphy  shared the scoring.

U9: The hurlers were away to Faugh’s for three matches. The first - Faugh's 7, Clontarf 3. A game of two halves, with Faugh's doing all their scoring in the first half assisted by a wind and a substantial hill. Clontarf won the second half.
Match  Two - Faugh's 2  Clontarf 14. Clontarf were strong from the off, scoring three over the bar en route to a well-earned victory.
Match Three - Faugh's 5  Clontarf 12. This match again displayed Clontarf's willingness to be competitive around the ball, and make telling use of their possession. Overall Score - Faugh's 14  Clontarf  29.
