PRINCIPLES TO BE FOLLOWED BY U14 GIRLS AND MENTORS

Girls to remember to take gum shield, water and football gloves

Also clothes to keep warm at both training and matches

To maximise fitness and speed, girls to give 100% at each training station

Cool down stretches will be done at end of training and matches

Girls to help mentors to collect bibs, cones, footballs, poles and water bottles

No train, no play – as noted by the girls! Perhaps a little harsh, so attendance sheet record will be reviewed and taken into account for determining match time.

To strike a balance between the desire to win and the right to participate, irrespective of ability (Club policy), every girl, over the time period of the league, which is now to mid-June, will get equal time (pending attendance)

With a squad of 17 Awesome As for a 15 a-side and a squad of 24 Killer Bs for a possible 11/15 a-side, the mentors have considered the best way to sub and have agreed to guarantee each week that each girls will get a half a match while over the period of the league, each girl will get equal time so this will allow us to leave some players on for a full match to ensure that we don’t disrupt the flow of play completely.

Review of As and Bs will take place at the end of league/cup and girls will be moved up/down as considered necessary, in the best interest of their development

The captain will nominate the player of the week and then that player will be the captain for the next match and so on

The captain of each team will add a comment (good or bad) at the half time talk

Team play to be place at all times, no DIYers

Parents on the side-line to refrain from giving out to the referee and to only provide positive encouragement to the girls on the pitch, in particular your own daughter

Regarding injuries, if in any doubt, we will leave out, better to be safe than sorry

Re asthma/inhalers, if forgotten, then mentors need to be made aware so to consider if safe to include in training/matches, if in any doubt, we will leave out

Any injuries at training (and matches) to be reported to the lead mentor (and referee) and to follow club procedures with regards to making claims

Text for matches to please reply asap and if no reply received by Thursday then can’t guaranteed match time

Training: Tuesdays - 6.15 to 7.30 on gaelic pitch in St Paul's
