Report on the 1st match of the season:
U16s had a great start to the season with a 2-9 to 5-2 win away to Whitehall Colmcilles. Clontarf, playing against the breeze in the first half started well with a Conor Headon Goal within 2 minutes. A second a goal from a free by Craig McConnell midway through the half saw Clontarf lead by 2-0 to 0-5 at the break. Whitehall set the pace in the early stages of the second half with Clontarf remaining in touch with an excellent Craig McConnell solo effort midway through the half. With less than 10 minutes remaining Whitehall led by 2-9 to 3-1 but Clontarf continued to fight to the death and a second Conor Headon goal with 5 minutes to go followed by a Daragh Golden goal and point in the last minute saw Clontarf edge out winners by 2 points.
