In order to mark the 100th Anniversary of Gaelic Sunday, there will be a talk in the Committee Room at the Clubhouse starting 7.00 p.m. A short
resume of the event below. All Welcome.

The 100th anniversary of Gaelic Sunday will occur on the 4th August. Gaelic Sunday was a significant event not just in GAA history but also in Irish
history as a means of protest to the British authorities. Refusing to consent to RIC permits in order to hold games, the GAA asked every parish
in Ireland to hold games at 3pm on Sunday, 4th August 1918. Over 1,800 games were held with over 50,000 people playing in them at that time. It
led to the RIC backing down.
