Clontarf GAA DVD Library

This collection of 10 DVDs features an eclectic mix of GAA material, from Club functions, to Club championship matches, to Dublin GAA material and beyond. Over 14 hours of captivating footage is available to Clontarf GAA members and can be borrowed from the Club PRO John Keegan (086-8289665). Special thanks to Maurice Whelan for providing the material for several of the DVDs.

DVD #1 – Chairman’s Night 2005/2006 (105mins)

  • In 2005 Donal Nolan hosted with guest speaker, RTE broadcaster Michael O’ Muircheartaigh (50mins)
  • In 2006 Chairman Aidan O’Halloran hosted with guest speaker,Tyrone Manager Mickey Harte (55mins)

DVD #2 – Dinner dance in our Clubhouse 1998 (100 mins)

  • This DVD features the 1st event held in the clubhouse, the 1998 Dinner Dance, with Chairman Pat O’Brien.

DVD #3 – Synthetic Pitch Official Opening 2005 (70 mins)

  • In 2005 An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern presided over the opening of our new Synthetic pitch

DVD #4 – Official Opening of  our Clubhouse 1998 (66 mins)

  • With introductions from Chairman Pat O’Brien and Stiofan O’Morain, this DVD features the opening ceremony at the clubhouse in 1998, as well as highlights from the Clontarf V Dublin selection match played in St. Pauls.

DVD #5 – ‘Effin’ Eddie Moroney, Tipperary U21 Football Final 1993 (90 mins)

  • One of the more famous GAA videos in circulation. This is the full length version of the U21 Tipperary Final between Atherlow and Neanagh. Commentator Eddie Moroney doesn’t hold back on his comments, especially in the closing stages as his side Atherlow hang on for a famous victory.

DVD #6 – Dublin GAA, featuring RTE and TG4 documentaries (75 mins)

  • This DVD features the RTE documentary -  “The Kingdom, The Dubs and the 70’s” (50mins).
  • Also included is the TG4 Laochra Gael program on one of the hero’s of the Dubs during the 70’s - Jimmy Keaveney (25mins)

DVD #7 –2005 Club Championhsips – Action from the Dublin Senior and Junior A Championships  (90 mins)

  • In September 2005, Clontarf Seniors took on near neighbours St. Vincents in the 1st round of the Dublin Senior championship at Parnell Pk.
  • In October 2005, Clontarf’s 2nd team (Junior A’s) reached the 1/4 final of the Championship, where they took on Round Towers in Parnell Park under floodlights. (48mins).

DVD #8 – 2006 Club Championhsips – Action from the Ladies Inter final & Junior A 1st round  (90 mins)

  • In June 2006, Clontarf Ladies played in the Dublin Intermediate final V Naomh Mearnog / St. Sylvesters.
  • In May 2006, Clontarf Junior A’s hosted Ballyboughal in the 1st round of the Championship.

DVD #9 – Advanced Coaching, Coaching the Tackle with Mickey Whelan  (40 mins)

  • In April 2006 Clontarf hosted an advanced skills workshop with Mickey Whelan. This DVD contains the highlights of that workshop and is geared for all levels of participation.

DVD #10 Dublin GAA Documentaries  (115mins)

  • “Mna Na Life” is a fly on the wall TG4 documentary about the Dublin Ladies season 2005. This DVD features manager John O’Leary and selector Frank Byrne from Clontarf GAA. (55mins)
  • “The Dubs – Story of a season” tells the inside story of the Dublin Senior footballer’s journey through the 2005 championship season. (60mins)
