Belgrove GNS won the Corn Austin Finn, the premier Dublin competition for girls primary schools, in Croke Park last Tuesday with a 6 point margin of victory over St Colmcille’s Knocklyon.  13 of the starting 15 and 22 of the panel of 25 are Clontarf players.  We congratulate all 25 on this great achievement, the first time the school has become Dublin Division 1 Champions.  There were stars all round the pitch on the day, from our goalie Aisling who made a great save in a one on one towards the end of the game right through every position to our full forward Aoibhe who scored the two goals.  The girls demonstrated good skills and a very strong work rate, keeping Knocklyon scoreless in the second half.  Their commitment in competing for 50-50 ball, tackling and blocking was a great credit to them.  Most of the squad come from our U12 group for whom this has capped a great season, winning the Dublin Club Division 2 championship and Division 6a shield.
