Dear Members

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. Tonight, The Government announced that Dublin City and County are to be moved to Level 3 on their new Staged Reopening Plan until at least October 10th.

This has serious implications for our Games and Training Sessions across the Club.

From today, Friday 18th September, All Juvenile Games from Minor down are cancelled for a period of at least three weeks, this includes challenge games.

In addition to this we have been informed by Dublin City Council that all Public Pitches are closed to all activity, including training sessions until Dublin re-enters Level 2. So, any team who are scheduled to use P19, 21, 23, 30, 34 or 35 for training will unfortunately have to cease activity until we can find a suitable alternative.

For teams using St. Paul's College, The Club Astro or St David’s, from Minor Grade down, Training may continue but should be non-contact and players should be in PODs of upto 15 at a ratio of 13:2 Players:Mentors. Players within PODs can share equipment like footballs and sliotars but are not allowed to move between PODs. Internal Games are not permitted. Players and Parents should continue to practice good hand hygiene, bring their own water as well as completing the GAA Health Questionnaire before each Training Session. As normal, any player who suspects that they may have COVID 19 Symptoms should stay home and contact their GP before returning to GAA.

At Adult Level, training and games can continue as normal but must be held behind closed doors, so no spectators may attend. Again, any team scheduled to train on any of the pitches in St. Annes Park will need to cease activity for the moment as we look for alternative arrangements. Priority will be given to the Adult Teams scheduled for Championship Finals on Sunday 27th September. Teams scheduled to play home games in the next 3 weeks will need to concede home advantage if the opposition has a private pitch. We will endeavour to source Neutral Venues for the Upcoming Junior 1 and Junior 6 Football Finals. Like Juvenile level, all the Health and Safety Protocols above should be strictly enforced and adhered too.

I’m aware that tonight’s announcement will cause a lot of disappointment for all our Members, but I ask you to continue to work with us, your team Mentors and COVID Supervisors as we do our bit to combat the resurgence of COVID 19 in the County.

Yours in Sport

Stephen McGinn
