** A look ahead in 2019:
------- *** -------
*** TRAINING TIMES and LOCATIONS (2019): Training is at 6:30pm-7:30pm each Tuesday and Thursday at the redeveloped Clubhouse Astro-pitch, our winter training location. Please note and draw your child's attention to the rules for use of the all-weather facility, in particular, the rules on appropriate footwear. Astro-turf boots and clean boots with molded plastic / rubber studs are acceptable. Steel-stud boots and "blades" (molded plastic studs with a straight edges) are not permitted. Note also that children are not permitted to enter the storage areas behind the new hurling wall. Notifications will not generally be sent for training sessions. Check the team webpage regularly to confirm and see updates re training and matches.
*** Teamer Notifications - Teamer remains the primary means to notify players of our Saturday matches. However, since April 2018, the Teamer service no longer supports free text(SMS) notifications for events. To ensure that you continue to receive notifications for matches and other events, please select email or Teamer app notifications as your preferred mode of notification in Teamer. Teamer Responses are required by WEDNESDAY evening for inclusion in a Saturday team. Please Respond, whether available or not!
*** TEAM SELECTION : With the move to three teams, we will generally have a squad of 13 to 16 players for each match fixture. Mentors will consider the following factors when picking teams each week: Attendance (including punctuality and timely response to Teamers), Attitude (Showing Respect, paying attention, staying focused, not distracting other players) and Ability. Improving fitness and avoiding injury through warm-ups / exercise and a healthy diet are also areas on which we will focus this term.
** "GO Leagues" matches are on Saturday mornings. Venue for U12 Boys Home matches (in 2019) is To Be Confirmed b(due to changes in facilities available to the club since 1st January) but will most likely be the grass Pitch 30 in St. Anne's Park and the all-weather Astro Pitch at Alfie Byrne Road (also referred to as the "DCC" pitch). NOTE that each teams will no longer tend to be co-located with our other U12 teams for matches. Meeting time will be posted on the team webpage and notified by Teamer. The schedule & locations for home/away matches will usually be posted on the team webpage by Tuesday for the coming weekend. Make sure to check the webpage on Friday night / Saturday morning in case of any late updates/changes.
