Meitheal

The Irish word ‘Meitheal’ means ‘a collective effort for the greater good of the community’. It describes the old Irish tradition of people coming together to respond to local needs.

The Clontarf GAA Meitheal Group takes responsibility for some agreed tasks that benefit the club and the local community and also meet socially from time to time. Membership of the group is aimed at (but not limited to) retired members of the community.

The Group provides opportunities to:

  • Make new friends

  • Build a sense of purpose and a sense of achievement by contributing to the club and the local community

  • Learn additional skills

  • Engage with club members and public
